About

I suppose I have been a writer and history lover as far back as I can remember. But never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine combining the two. That changed ,when as a recipient of a teacher history grant, I had the pleasure of attending several workshops by highly acclaimed children’s author, Elvira Woodruff. Her inspiration, coupled with the knowledge and experiences gained through the learning grant, were the impetus to pursue my dream of becoming a published author and I began to formulate the idea for my first middle grade novel, “When Skies Are Gray.”
Writing my first book had quite a learning curve and more than a few tears. But I persevered, edited, rewrote, and edited some more. While going through the editing process, I returned to an earlier project I had laid aside. The tragic story behind my second book, ‘Sins of Our Fathers” was one that I had to tell. Once again , it took longer than expected and life often got in the way, but I kept going.
The entire process has taken longer than I expected, but through it all I have learned valuable lessons and grown as an author. With my 3rd novel completed and the rough draft for sequel in progress, there is no stopping me now.
When I’m not writing, I divide my time between the beaches of Palm Coast, Florida and the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family, including my husband, our grown children, and three adorable grandchildren.
